So, why did the Oregon Health Department advise Western Oregon University to shut down for the weekend and cancel sporting events?

One student has a suspected case of swine flu.

(Oh,the World Health Organization now wants us to call it H-1-N-1 because OHSU's Dr. David Jacoby says Egypt was about to slaughter thousands of pigs because of it.
There's no danger of getting the flu from eating pork.)

Anyway, some have said the closure of WOU is an over-reaction.
Dr. Katrina Hedberg from the Oregon Health Department is one of my guests Saturday night on "Straight Talk", and she explains the reasoning behind the recommendation.

The Health Department is being cautious until we know more about
H-1-N-1 and how it will affect Oregonians.

There's a lot more on this week's show, including answers to some of your questions on the H-1-N-1 virus.

Is this just media hype?

Join me Saturday night at a special time this week only at 6pm.
Then leave me your comments.

Let's keep talking.
