Those are just some of the topics I discuss with Washington Governor Chris Gregoire this week on "Straight Talk".
Gregoire has been out in front on the health care reform issue.
She had a personal meeting not long ago with President Obama, and just attended the National Governors Conference where the central topic was health care.
This week on "Straight Talk", I get a chance to ask the Governor how she thinks the President can get health care reform passed, now that Congress isn't going to meet his August deadline.
We also talked about what's in the House and Senate bills for the states of Oregon and Washington.
We cover a lot of ground in this week's show.
The Governor talks about stimulus money and jobs for Southwest Washington where Clark County has an unemployment rate higher than Oregon's at 12.6 percent.
We also talk about the I-5 bridge.
The Governor addresses the four billion dollar cost and why she thinks tolls are inevitable.
She prefers a design for the bridge that shows off Oregon and Washington's green values.
Plus our commentators, David Sarasohn from the left, and Lars Larson from the right answer the question: "Should the rich pay higher taxes to pay for health care reform?
Join me Saturday night at 6:30 for "Straight Talk" with Governor Chris Gregoire, our first in depth interview with the Governor.
Then, leave your comments here.
Thank you for watching and let's keep talking.
