Hard to believe that 11 months after our last election, we're already back in campaign season, but it's here. We already have two big-name Democrats in the race for Oregon governor, and coming up even more quickly, Oregon voters will be asked whether to support - or overturn - a $733 million dollar tax increase passed by the Legislature earlier this year.
That battle over the tax increase is shaping up to be our topic this week on Straight Talk, and we're expecting a lively debate.
Just this past weekend on Straight Talk, one of the those Democrats in the race for governor made some news. Former Secretary of State Bill Bradbury said, that if elected, he would be up for revisiting how long those taxes would be in effect. The legislature made them permanent, but Bradbury said he would be willing to work with the legislature to make them temporary.
We have that full interview, with what Bradbury says his focus would be, in our video section, along with the half-hour with former Governor John Kitzhaber, who's trying for an unprecedented third term.
