The newest face in the race for Oregon Governor is Democrat Steve Shields.
He's a former Hewlett Package executive, an Oregon State University graduate, and a resident of Corvallis.
Shields has never held political office, but he says he's the right man to lead Oregon to economic stability and prosperity.
On "Straight Talk", we will give you a chance to get informed on the candidates before you vote in the May primary.
So far, candidates John Kitzhaber and Bill Bradbury have been our guests.
This week, Shields is my guest on "Straight Talk".
He told me his top priorities will be reinvesting in education, creating jobs, and reinvigorating Oregon's economy.
Shields says Oregon is stuck, and he's the man to get the state unstuck, and offer Oregonians a new voice in Salem.
In this week's show, I ask Shields why Oregonians should vote for a man with no political track record?
What specific qualifications does he have to effectively lead the state?
I also ask him to give us a detailed plan on how he would stabilize Oregon's economy.
And why in the world face formidable candidates like Kitzhaber and Bradbury in his first run at political office?
Does he think he has a chance to win?
You can hear Shields' answers at 6:30 on Saturday night.
We are off Halloween weekend, but we're back on Saturday, November 7th.
Republican candidate, Allen Alley, will be my guest on that show.

Thank you for watching, and let's keep talking.
