Yes, yes, yes, it's true!! Most E. coli is either a) potentially good for you or at the most b) harmless. There are hundreds of strains..
Let's give you the black sheep of the E. coli family first: O157:H7. This is the one that has killed people or made them horribly sick after eating contaminated meat that was not cooked to a high enough temperature.
But here's a little bit more on some of the other strains:
I loved this writeup.. but if you're fading on me because you can't quite possibly understand why I am facinated by E. coli then at least scroll down to the part about vitamin K.
This is a bit jargony, but I thought some of the testing they explain was interesting, too:
Now, let's get to the other big story of the day.. the antidepressant story that covers Prozac and other drugs like it in its class:
Good link here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23348068/
Now, this story out of Australia is particularly well done, as it takes the time to address the study with a measure of depth as well as address its limitations. If you have a friend on Prozac or one of the other drugs like it.. this is a good link to forward on:
I hope you find that stuff helpful.
Random picture of the day. As I've mentioned I shop for groceries at two places.. the New Seasons on my way home (Hi, Leslie!) and the Safeway by my house. Well, the parking lot at the New Seasons is quite an experience if you drive a wide car like mine. I docked (as I call it) the other day and as I was walking away turned back and started to laugh. Look at how we ALL managed to liberally interpret what it means to STAY WITHIN THE PARKING LOT LINES!! Totally funny.
Have a great day!! firstname.lastname@example.org
