I wanted to post this blog yesterday but the blog software was down. And the technical group we usually report that to had technical problems of their own. So, who do you call when the tech guys aren't available??
Anyway, THANK YOU for your kind emails and thoughtful comments. I really can't thank you enough. Everyone goes through loss. Some are harder than others. And while I miss Milo, it was truly his time. My friend Siobhan texted a picture to me-- but my phone won't allow me to save the photo (otherwise I would have posted it). On Milo's last overnight slumber party at her house, he packed himself into a super small dog bed. Sort of like the clown car deal.. he's all legs and somehow got himself all folded up inside.
Bottom line: I'm feeling stronger about the whole thing as time goes on.
What are you up to this weekend?! I'm emceeing the Candelighters Harvest of Hope auction. It's a fun event where local folks make things that others can bid on. Last year I made a fused glass plate that I spent waaaay too much money to get back (hey-- it was for a good cause). This year, I submitted this photograph I'm calling "Hope".
Cross your fingers it goes for some decent dough!!
Last weekend I emceed the Doernbecher gala with Joe Donlon. Geez, is he fantastic to work with. We had a blast. But the showstopper was this guy Howard Hedinger and his son Huston who donated a million bucks to Dr. Brian Druker and his lab. Wow. I mean a million dollars?! Just like that?!!! How completely rad is that?!!!
I kicked my high heels off during the last auction item and someone suggested we bid on them, too. Ummm, no. First of all, I really like those shoes. Of course, it's all for a good cause so I could be convinced-- but honestly: who wants sweaty, worn heels anyway?!!
Later gators! :-)
