It's been NUTS on my end. Nuts! We've had studio rehearsals for the past week and a half and that basically took a sizable chunk out of each day that I would normally blog or get caught up on emails. I'm almost unburied thanks to the Blazers game today (which means we have no show). YAY.
This past weekend we did a huge pre-studio launch open house at the square. I figured there would be, ohh... 100 or so folks showing up to check out the new studio. Boy, did I blow that estimate. There were hundreds of folks! I got to meet so many people it was dizzying (in a very very good way). I learned that strangers really will just come up to a pregnant woman and touch her belly without asking. At first, it kind of caught me off guard (hasn't happened before this weekend) but it didn't take long for me to be, like, COME ONE, COME ALL.. FEEL HER KICK FOR YOURSELF!
Hey, the last gal who gave my belly a good luck feel was so genuinely happy I thought she'd burst with joy. After a few good rubs she smiled widely at me and whispered, "Thanks for letting me touch your belly." Put a smile on my face.
Right now I'm just cranking out this fast blog before we do our tweetup (tweetup = get together for folks on Twitter who regularly are a part of the Live @ 7 show) here at the new studio. And then, it's back to the normal deal tomorrow.
Here are some pics from this past weekend.
I was snapping photos as we brought in small groups and posting them on Twitter:
This was the line once things calmed down. One of the KGW folks told me it stretched to Starbucks and another gal said she waited in line more than an hour!
They had us sign autographs for folks who wanted them. My first official KGW autograph picture. Feels a little weird, frankly, because I don't consider myself cool enough for something like that.
Okay-- here's to (hopefully) posting tomorrow, too, on my big Friday plans. Friday will be a very, very, very, very fun day.
