What a weekend in sports. I'm really looking forward to the Final Round of the U.S. Open. Tiger Woods is only two shots behind the leader Aaron Baddeley.
If Tiger wins...it will give him 13 Majors as a Pro...and five behind Jack Nicklaus.
It would seem only fitting that Woods should win at Oakmont. The list of Champions at Oakmont is amazing. Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus are included.
Speaking of Nicklaus, most golf fans know that he has 18 Major Titles...but did you know he has also finished second 19 times. That means he was first or second in 37 majors. Wow!
It was interesting to hear that Woods has never won a Major when trailing heading into the final round. That doesn't mean he can't play from behind. Tiger won the A-T & T Pro Am one year when he was down seven shots with seven holes left.
Also, one other thing I forgot to mention in my blog last week about Oakmont.
The 9th green is also the practice putting green. So there are players practicing on the back of the green while others in the tournament are playing to the front of the green.
I'm also looking forward to the Beavers game against Arizona St. on Monday in the College Baseball World Series. The Beavers were swept by the Sun Devils in Corvallis a month ago. However, as we all know, the OSU is playing a whole lot better now than a month ago.
Did you see the double play turned in by Darwin Barney and Joey Wong of the Beavers? Fantastic Stuff.
Everyone have a good day and enjoy the U.S. Open and another great weekend of sports!
