Sure, the Ducks will be better off if Jacquizz Rodgers doesn't play in Saturday's 112th Civil War.
As unlikely as it sounds right now (Tuesday)... the Ducks are still 'believing' that Quizz will see the field.
Rodgers was injured Saturday night in Tucson... after just 4 carries.
Up until that point, Rodgers had been OSU's "Iron Man". What is an incredible statistic is that the fabulous freshman has still yet to fumble this season. He's been at absolute beast for opposing defenses.
Rodgers has a sprained shoulder... and Beavers Head Coach Mike Riley said Tuesday that it's "very doubtful" that Quizz will get his first taste of the Ducks.
And Riley sounds as if he's looking to his backups to pick-up the slack.
"I think Ryan and Jeremy will be a great one-two punch in this game," Riley said. "That's what a team is all about. Somebody has to step up and play."
OSU has won the last two Civil War meetings. And, for those inquiring minds out there, the Ducks have not won in Corvallis in 12 seasons. 1996 was the year... and Oregon trounced the Beavs, 49-13. Game day can't get here soon enough!
