Bellotti To Step Down As Ducks Head Coach

I'd like to say that I'm shocked... but I'm not. Mike Bellotti is stepping down as Head Football Coach at the University of Oregon.
This has been rumored to be in the works for a couple of years now.
But no need to worry Duck fans... Bellotti isn't going far.
He will eventually be taking over as Athletic Director.
Here's the rub with all of this. We have absolutely no idea on when this will happen.
So, who's the next head coach? It will be Oregon's mastermind of an Offensive Coordinator, Chip Kelly. Wise choice! Kelly was to interview for the main job at Syracuse on Wednesday morning.
Now, this all but ensures that Kelly will not be going anywhere. Plus, he'll be in line for a healthy raise. And a well-deserved raise it will be. The Ducks are ranked 4th nationally rushing the football... and 8th overall in total offense. The transition should be a very smooth one-- when it 'eventually' happens.
For now, Bellotti and Kelly are hitting the recruiting trail.... then will prepare their Ducks for, what we believe, to be the Holiday Bowl on December 30th.
