I had a good night here at KGW-TV. We carried the Super Bowl and I must admit I had goose bumps watching the TV here in the sports office. It was at halftime watching Bruce Springsteen. The Boss put on a great show. Many times it's hard to get the sound right for a halftime show, but Springsteen delivers.
The game was terrific as well. The first NFL game I ever saw in person was the Cardinals and Steelers 40 years ago in St. Louis. I didn't really care, who won the Super Bowl, I just wanted a great finish...and we certainly had that.
23 points in the fourth qtr and two tds in the last three minutes. The winning TD catch by Santonio Holmes was a thing of beauty. Steelers win 27-23. It was the second straight season with a great finish. The Giants did the same thing to the Patriots last season.
I've watched a lot of tv in the last 24 hours. I went home last night and watched more than four hours of tennis. It was the men's final of the Australian Open. Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer in five sets.
By the way, the Blazers play the Hornets on tv today at 5pm right here on channel 8.
I'm off...and I'll be home on the couch watching more TV!
