Sometimes when I sit down to write a blog, I end up asking myself "What should I write about?" Not today.
It's Father's Day, and I can't think of anything better to write about than my Dad.
Peter Edwards grew up outside Tacoma, served in both the Marines and the Air Force, and worked at Boeing for more than a decade. My Mom will tell you he's been a loving husband for more than 30 years. My sister and I will tell you we couldn't have asked for a better father.
Since this is a sports blog, I will tell you my dad spent countless hours carting me back and forth between soccer, baseball, basketball, football, and track practices... and he gave up plenty of free time to travel to high school football games all over the Western Washington map.
After a long week at work, he wouldn't hesitate to drive up to Seattle and sit in the 300 section of the Kingdome so I could watch a Mariners game.
He taught me fair play, good sportsmanship, and how to drive (that one's important).
Most of all, he has never stopped being supportive of me.
I'm the person I am because of my Dad and my Mom.
So, in his honor... I say happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there.
