The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Tony. He is an older Alaskan Malamute mix that is ready to be a companion to sit by your side. It’s been a while since he has had to settle into a new home and lifestyle so it’s bound to take time for Tony to adjust to this new living situation. However, if you are willing to give him the time to become familiar with you and your routines, we think you will be more than happy with the outcome. Tony will do best in a low traffic home that will provide a calm, consistent environment. Tony is one of the lucky ones who came from Clackamas County Dog Control to us through our Second Chance Program. Come visit with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.
Tony’s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside at Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Here they romp and play all day with the other dogs in doggy daycare so they might be a great fit with your canine family members! Kittens are also available at this location. They live in “colony” rooms with fellow felines. Visiting and adoption hours for dogs and cats are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.
