The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Toonie (116970). She is a sweet one year old Labrador/American Pit Bull mix who can be nervous with new people. She is very loving once she knows you, and loves to play ball! Toonie has been around other dogs before and has done well with them, although she is rather high energy and may be too much for some dogs. She was uncomfortable with the small children in her previous home and will need to find a home with older children who can be gentle and kind to her. Toonie appears to be housetrained and will sit for a treat. She would love to continue her training in her new home. Toonie has never been around a cat, but due to her energy level we recommend she find a cat-free home. A training consultation is included prior to Toonie's adoption. You can meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503-285-7722). Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm Sunday through Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm Thursday through Sunday. Adoption hours end one half four to closing each day.
Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support. Availability is subject to prior adoption.
