The Oregon Humane Society’s Cat of the Day is Sophie. She is a beautiful six year old Sealpoint Siamese cat who is soft and cuddly to boot! She is relaxed and easygoing, and although Sophie's previous owners say that she loves all people, she may prefer a quiet, adult only home where she can be the only pet and the center of attention. Sophie is in the prime of her life and ready to find her new forever home, come and meet with her today! She has been declawed so must be an indoors only kitty. You can meet her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.
Sophie’s adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days of PetPlan health insurance and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption. The Oregon Humane Society’s Adoption Special of Two Cats for the adoption fee of one continues indefinitely.
Cats are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. Here they all live in "colony rooms" with their fellow felines. Dogs are available at this location also. They spend their days in a large group area with other dogs. Viewing and adoption hours for cats and dogs are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday.
Every Tuesday the Oregon Humane Society offers an adoption special for people age 60 and up. A select group of 15 pets will be available for adoption to seniors at no charge every Tuesday. All other pets will have their adoption fees reduced by $50 when they are adopted by individuals over 60 on Tuesday.
