The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Shelby Mustang. Im not for the first time dog owner; Ill need guidance, and patience! She is a five year old Australian Shepherd mix that is nervous with new people and new places, she gets to spend some time with you her love for people begins to show. Shelby will need to be in a home with older children, or just adults, who can be patient with me and know that she doesn’t want to be fussed with a lot. Once she is settled in you will begin to see what a great gal she is and all of her amazing qualities. Shelby will most likely have herding tendencies and herd people, children or other animals and for that reason will need to be in a cat free home. She came as a part of our Second Chance Program from the Jefferson County Animal Control in Madras and while there she lived in close association with other dogs so may enjoy a canine friend. You can be the one to give Shelby a 2nd chance to find a happy home! You can meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10-7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10-9 on Thursday- Saturday. Adoption time ends one half hour prior to closing each day.
Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
