The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Sheldon. He is a year and half half old energetic Boxer/Basenji fellow looking for a family that will commit to training, exercise, and love for years to come. He's a curious and playful guy looking for a patient owner to help him get the benefit of additional training. If Sheldon is left to his own devices he has been to known to counter surf. He's quite active and playful and be a little too much for younger children as he weighs forty pounds. Sheldon is still getting the hang of walking on a leash without pulling, so he does best with using a harness or other walking tool. Sheldon is a prime candidate for taking a Basic Manners class, like the one offered at the Oregon Humane Society. Working together, you can make help Sheldon become the perfect dog for you. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 to 7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 to 9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoption hours end one half hour prior to closing each day.
Sheldon's adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
