The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Sasha (shelter #139604). She is a lively and exuberant dog who needs to be provided with a significant amount of exercise. At her previous home she was an outdoor dog but she is looking forward to enjoying the luxuries of indoor living. Sasha has not had opportunity for training that might be appropriate for a canine of her age so is not house trained, but has learned to sit, shake, take treats gently and wait for food most of the time. Shasa will do best in an active, breed-experienced home where she can be part of your daily activities and won't be left home alone all the time. She needs consistent and positive training to keep her happy and healthy. Because of her strong prey drive she will need to be in a home without cats and she does have a history of getting along well with all other dogs, although she has been taken to a dog park to play. Sasha loves to play with her toys and will play with them by herself; she still needs to learn to play gently with other dogs and people. A training consultation is included prior to my adoption. You can meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.
