The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Sheldon (119692). He is an adorable, playful, exuberant two month Labrador and Boxer mix puppy. He has proven that his enthusiasm for everyone can be a bit too much at times, and needs someone who understands how to teach him better manners. Even though he is incredibly cute, he will need loads of guidance, commitment and patience; so we do not believe that he is for the first time dog owner. Like all puppies, Sheldon will need continued socialization, help with house-training and outlets for his youthful energy. We highly recommend taking Sheldon through a puppy class, such as the one offered here, where he can start learning basic manners, meet other people and dogs. We also recommend crate training your new puppy and have a crate rental program at OHS, please inquire at the front desk. If you truly are ready for a puppy then this great puppy is ready for you! You can meet with Sheldon at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503-285-7722). You can visit with the animals from 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday through Wednesday; and from 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday through Saturday. Adoption hours end one half hour prior to closing. Sheldon's adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
