SHELBY: Dog of the Day
Posted on December 9, 2011 at 2:09 PM
The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Shelby (115047). She is a kind ten year old lady looking for a quiet home where she and her friend can spend their golden years. She came in with her best friend Tipper (115048), who is the same breed, and will need to go home with her. They have lived with one another for 8 years and appreciate each other's company. Shelby is a little shy about being walked on leash, but with some encouragement and the use of a harness she is starting to learn how to enjoy walks. Shelby will need to go to an adults-only home as busy environments frighten her and she is not used to small children. Car rides also make her a little nervous and sometimes will give her an upset stomach. Aside from that, Shelby enjoys a good play session with racquetballs! Shelby was recently groomed at D'tails Dog Salon by Deena, who donated her time to make her look the best she can be! You can meet the two of them at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503-285-7722). Visting hours are 10 am to 7 pm Sunday throught Wednesday and 10 am to 9 pm Thursday through Sunday. Adoption hours close one half hour prior to closing.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!
