The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Pongo (shelter #137537). He is a handsome older Dalmation looking for a special home where he can spend his golden years. Pongo still gets around just fine, but he is not as young as he used to be so stairs and long walks may be more difficult for him these days, but a comfy couch will do just fine.  However Pongo will still enjoy a nice stroll around the block, but when he is done he will be happy to lie on the couch with you and watch TV. He loves to be with people, but small children would probably be too much for him. Pongo came from the Jackson County Animal Control through the Second Chance Program. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoption time ends one half hour prior to closing each day.

Pongo’s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!
