The Oregon Humane Society’s Pet of the Day is Petunia. She is a two year old Terrier mix who is waiting to be someone’s new furry friend. She wants someone to love her and play with her. She adores being with people much more than she likes being around other dogs, so she needs to be the only dog in the household. She can be quite aggressive towards all dogs, but in particular towards small dogs so is best with a large back yard where she can get her exercise retrieving a ball, playing Frisbee, jumping through a hula hoop and not needing to reactive with other dogs in a public situation. She also needs a home without cats and with only older dog savvy children. Petunia does enjoy people, but children do have to be old enough to understand her behavior and how to assist in her training. She knows her basis commands and understands sit, stay, down, come, leave it and off and loves going for car ride. The Oregon Humane Society has private training consultations to help you learn how to manage reactivity issues, and a training consultation is included with my adoption. You can meet with Petunia at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are Sun-Wed 10-7; Thurs-Sat 10-9. Adoption hours are Sun-Wed 10:6:30; Thurs-Sat 10-8:30.

Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
