The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Week is Pappy (shelter #135086). He is a three year old St Bernard/Basset Hound looking for a new place to call home. Pappy has spent the majority of his life being kept outside and will need time adjusting to being indoors. Pappy can be a bit nervous in new places so finding a home with dog savvy, older children would be best for him as well as a home with no cats. Pappy can also be a bit sensitive to being touched around his neck and face so his new family members will need to have patience and be respectful of his boundaries until he can adjust. Pappy is an easy going canine who needs exercise and plenty of affection, hopefully he sounds like the guy for you! You can meet him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday thru Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday thru Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.
Pappy's adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
