The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Poncho (shelter # 128408). He is a handsome, strapping four year old Terrier and Chihuahua mix who is looking for a warm lap to call his own. It takes Poncho a little time to trust new people in new places, but give him a few minutes and he'll be your best friend. He may do best in a home with older, dog savvy children who can be respectful of his size. Since he has been with us he really does enjoy getting out and about for daily bouts of exercise and play. To assist Poncho in becoming a well-rounded canine citizen a Basic Manners class, like those offered at the Oregon Humane Society would help further boost his confidence in new situations. If there is a resident dog in your family, a pet meet with Poncho will be essential prior to adoption. He's come here with the hope of finding his forever home, and maybe that home is with you! You can meet with Poncho at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722 www.oregonhumane.org .  Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support
