Mara is a very sweet girl who can be active but also will snuggle down for a nap among soft blankets. She needs to be the only pet of any type in the household.

The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Mara. She is a sweet four year old American Pit Bull mix looking for a fun home to settle into. She is happy, loves to get massages and she's also active but does settle down and enjoys napping in cozy, soft places. She has begun crate training and would do best if this were continued in her new home. Mara will need a home where she is the only pet with no cats, dogs, guinea pigs, etc. Older children are recommended due to her size and energy level. A training consultation is included prior to her adoption. You can meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are  10-7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10-9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoption hours end one half hour prior to closing each day.

The adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
