Maggie May is a very pretty and social gal. Like many cats in a new home will be a bit reserved at first but she likes to be petted and will reward you with purrs. She has lived with other cats and gets along well. She may do best with adults or in a home with older children. She's a real special cat that likes to share your bed by sleeping at your feet!

The Oregon Humane Society’s Cat of the Day is Maggie May. She is adorable eight year old lady in the prime of her life with a fabulous personality. She is reserved at first, but once you get to know her she is a real character. Maggie has lots of exciting hobbies - she enjoys playing with water and paper bags, finding sunny spots to lie in, and cuddling at your feet in bed. She loves attention and purrs non-stop when being petted. Maggie has lived with other cats before and seemed to enjoy their company. She would probably do best in a home with older kids or just adults. Maggie is on the hefty side, and would like to go to a home where her people will work with their vet to help her gradually lose some weight and regain a healthy figure.  Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.

You can meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.

Kittens are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. At this location they all live in “colony rooms” with their fellow felines. If you want know if your potential new doggie best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Visiting and adoption hours for both kittens and dogs are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.
