The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Maddie (115889). She is a sweet, loving four year old German Shorthair Pointer who is in need of some new best friends! She came to us with her mom, Penny (117544) and although they are not bonded, they have never been separated and would love to go home together. Maddie is energetic, but once she has had her walk and some playtime (she likes toys too), she would love to snuggle up on the couch with her best buds. Maddie knows her basic commands and loves her treats. She has lived mostly outside recently, but has been an indoor dog before and would love to come back inside in her new home. She has lived with children and done well with them, and seems to do well with other dogs as well. If you have a resident canine friend you would need to have a pet meet with the two prior to adoption. You can visit with Maddie and Penny at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503-285-7722). Hours are 10 am to 7 pm Sunday through Wednesday and 10:00 am to 9 pm Thursday through Saturday.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability subject to prior adoption.
