The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Lucy. She is a sweet little seven month old Chihuahua mix who is looking for someone to love. Lucy may not be the type of canine who comes running up to meet you , but give her time to get to know you and you will see her true colors blossom. She has had a lot happening in her life at this time with a long trip from California. We don’t know much about her background but when she is picked up she will snuggle and show that she wants to have trust in people once again. It may take her a little time to adjust to her new environment, but with encouragement, patience, a nice soft bed in a secure location she will fit right in. You can visit with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.
Lucy’s adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption. The Oregon Humane Society is closed on Monday, Labor Day. Visit Lucy on Tuesday!
Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Kittens are also available for adoption here and they all live in "colony rooms" with their fellow felines. Visiting and adoption hours for both dogs and kittens are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.
