The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Lark (shelter #132401). He is a sweet but shy one year old Dachshund/Terrier mix who is still learning what the world around him is all about. In this journey to becoming a confident canine Lark will need a patient owner who can take things slow with him and encourage him as he learns to adjust to the world around him. Lark will need an adult only home and slow introduction to new people and situations. He gives you clear signals when he is nervous or uncomfortable and a dog savvy owner will be necessary. His playful and loving spirit comes out once he has had time to get to know you and feels like he can be himself. A training consultation is included prior to Lark's adoption. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday-Wednesday and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.
His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
