The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Luna (113153).  She is an adorable, playful Dachshund mix four month old puppy.  (And she's much cuter than her picture!)  She will need a home that can provide for her the time and energy it takes raising a puppy and guide her to grow up to be a fantastic canine citizen.  Puppies are incredibly cute but they need guidance, commitment and a whole lot of patience.  Like all puppies, Luna will need continued socialization, help with house-training and outlets for her youthful energy.  We highly recommend taking Luna through a puppy class where she can start learning basic manners, meet other people and dogs.  At OHS we offer classes and are happy to help you with all of your training needs and questions. We also recommend crate-training your new puppy and have a crate rental program  at OHS, please inquire at the front desk. If you truly are ready for a puppy then this great puppy is ready for you!  You can meet with Luna at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503258-7722) www.oregonhumane.org.

Luna's adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and ID tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy vet exam and plenty of post adoption support.  Availability is subject to prior adoption.
