The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Khole. She is a young and energetic Jack Russell Terrier mix looking for a family that will commit to training, exercise, and love for years to come. Khloe may be a little shy at first and will need some time to adjust in her new home. She would benefit from continued socialization and positive training, and a consistent routine to help with her housetraining. Khloe needs to go to a home with a fenced in yard and a one with adults only or much older children. Khloe may prefer to be the only pet in the home and should not to go a home with small animals. Khloe loves squeaky toys and tennis balls and is just waiting to play some fetch with you! A training consult is included prior to adoption. Khole’s adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days free PetPlan health insurance and plenty of post adoption support!

Meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat. Availability is subject to prior adoption.

Every Tuesday the Oregon Humane Society offers an adoption special for people age 60 and up. A select group of 20 pets will be available for adoption to seniors at no charge every Tuesday. All other pets will have their adoption fees reduced by $50 when they are adopted by individuals over 60 on Tuesday.

Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of LexiDog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. Here they romp and play with the other dogs in doggy daycare along with other dogs from the Oregon Humane Society so they might be a great fit with your canine family members! Cats are available at this location also. They live in “colony rooms” with three or four other cats. Viewing and adoption hours for dogs and cats are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday.
