The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Kelso (shelter #133992). He's a happy, active five year old Springer Spaniel mix who needs to go into a home with people who have an active lifestyle and are looking for a dog to include in their fun. It will be essential for Kelso to find a companion who can keep him mentally and physically engaged and stimulated. His has a great enthusiasm for life is but will need to be channeled properly. If you are looking for a companion to join you in running, hiking or any outdoor activity then we highly recommend Kelso. He will need continued basic training and socialization so he can continue to be the best canine possible. He will need to live in an adult only home where everyone can understand that he doesn't like to share his toys. A training consultation is included prior to his adoption. You can see Kelso in action on his very own video, go to www.oregonhumane.org/adopt/detail.asp see it.  You can visit with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10am to 7pm on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.

It is Home for the Holidays at the Oregon Humane Society, and as an adult dog over one year old, Kelso has a special adoption fee of $50 for the month December. It includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
