The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Kenji (112009). He is a year and half sweet little Terrier mix who is looking for a home with older children, or adults, as he does not like fast movements or loud noises. He is looking for someone who can show him what city life has to offer, but in a slow way with lots of treats. The country dog in him is worries about all the sights and sounds of the city. He seems well behaved, walks well on a leash and wants to please his person and he's beginning to learn how to sit! Once he knows you he will give you kisses and have lots of love for you. Kenji came to us from the Merced Co. Animal Control in California through our Second Chance Program to find his new home in the Pacific NW. If he looks a litter bewildered in his photo remember it was taken shortly after he arrived in Portland. Kenji has already began to adapt to being in Portland, he recently spent parts of a day at a golf tournament in benefit of the Oregon Humane Society, and he became the darling of the group with his loveable ways. He does get along well with some dogs, both large and small, but in the case of a resident dog a pet meet would be necessary. You can meet with Kenji at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503-258-7722). www.oregonhumane.org.
His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
