The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Jax. He is at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center which is inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club at 6100 SW Macadam Ave. Portland, 503-327-8219. He is a three year old Dachshund mix and is looking for a warm lap to lie on. It takes him a little time to trust new people and new places, but give him a bit of time and he will become your great friend. Jax really does enjoy getting daily bouts of exercise, and a Basic Manners class, like what is offered at the Oregon Humane Society, would help further boost his confidence in new situations. He will need to go to a home with older children that are able to respect his need for time and space to settle in.  If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Visiting and adoption hours are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.

Jax’s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
