The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Jasper. He is a very sweet and gentle two year old Wirehaired Dachshund that would like a quiet adult home but could handle gentle, dog savvy children. He will need positive training to help build his social skills, as he can be a bit worried about new situations and people. He tends to be a one-person dog and may feel the need to be protective of his person and territory. He is sensitive to cold weather and may need extra help and patience with his housebreaking. He's sweet as can be, once he has the time needed to adjust. You can meet him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 to 7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 to 9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoption hours end one half hour prior to closing each day.
His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
