The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is JD (112216). He is a handsome one and a half year old Siberian Husky mix looking to find a new home that truly understands the needs of a Husky. JD came to OHS from Klamath Falls Humane Society as a part of our second chance adoption program so we could help find him a new home. An adult home only, or one with older children would be best as likes to jump on people in play, and he apparently has not received training regarding this behavior. He needs to go to a cat free home as he is not compatible with them. JD will enjoy walks and even jogs with his new parents, but he may need leash training prior to being a great companion while you are outdoors. There are training classes you may want to take advantage of at the Oregon Humane Society. Since he has been with us he has enjoyed getting a good brushing that helped to remove a lot of his excess hair. J.D.'s new owners should know that he should not be trusted unattended outdoors as he may have a tendency to escape his confinement. He is a social boy looking to please his new owner - is that you? Come meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503-258-7722) www.oregonhumane.org.
J.D.'s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines and plenty of post adoption support. Availability is subject to prior adoption.
