The Oregon Humane Society’s dog of the Day is Indie (shelter #132125). She is a three year old Rat Terrier mix who is looking to find a home where she can relax and take as much time as needed to show people what a great girl she is! India tends to be a one-person dog and may feel the need to be protective of her person and territory. If you have experience with small feisty dogs like her, you'll truly appreciate her personality. She has lived with another dog but likes to be the boss, so might do best in a home where she can be queen of the castle. India will need positive training to help build her social skills, as she can be a bit worried. To be her best possible self, she'll need daily walks and continued training and socialization. Little kids are too rambunctious and downright scary to her, so she’ll need to go to a home with older, respectful children, or adults only may be best. Given the time needed, she’ll make some special person a wonderful little lap girl. You can meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.

Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
