The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Ice. This dashing man is a three year old Australian Shepherd mix who is not only handsome but very smart. Ice is looking for an owner that will challenge him not only physically but also mentally. This dog loves to be on the go and enjoys doing things with you such as hiking, training, and playing games. Ice is not for the first time dog owner and will need someone who has experience with herding breeds. We recommend older dog savvy children for Ice so he does not become overwhelmed and also if he is in a home with younger children you may find him trying to herd the children! This fellow is ready to find his forever home, will it be with you. A training consultation is included prior to adoption. You can visit with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.
Ice’s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Kittens are also available for adoption here and they all live in "colony rooms" with their fellow felines. Visiting and adoption hours for both dogs and kittens are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.
