The Oregon Humane Society's Cat of the Day is Helga. She is a timid, older lady looking for a home where she can feel safe and secure. She is very overwhelmed by new situations and strangers, so a quiet home with someone willing to give her as much time and space as she needs in order to adjust would suit her best. Helga has had experience with other cats and dogs in her previous home, but she didn't seem too fond of them as they caused her stress, so a home where she can be the only pet might be purrrfect for Helga. We recommend that she go to either an adult only home, or one with older kids who have had lots of experience with cats. She can be affectionate, preferring lots of petting and maybe even a snuggle session or two. Could Helga be your new best friend? You can visit her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 to 7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10-9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!
