Hero (110835)is the Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day. I am a tiny little two year old Poodle Miniature Dachshund mix with a heart of gold and I take it upon myself to protect my people from whomever I think needs to pass my personal inspection first. Then of course I will roll over for petting on my belly once I have given you a gold star of approval (it all depends on how well you give belly rubs!). Sometimes I can be a little slow to warm up to strangers I meet on walks, men especially, but if you give me a tasty treat and talk to me really gently then I will be your friend. In my previous home I used to live with another dog, and got along okay, so if you have another dog please bring them in for a pet meet. I should not go home with cats however since I like to chase them too much! I have lived with children in the past as well and prefer to be around older kids who are respectful of my initial shyness. You can meet Hero at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503-258-7722) www.oregonhumane.org.
My adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar & OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy vet exam and plenty of post adoption support. Availability is subject to prior adoption.
