The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Gunner. He is a very handsome AKC registered English Springer Spaniel that has previously been outdoors fellow. Gunner will need a patient owner that to help him become an indoor dog and also help with his house training as he learns about the good things that happen to a dog that joins his favorite humans inside. He was tied outside during the day and slept in a crate at night, but did have interaction with adults during the day and was taken for walks on a leash. He has been around children, but it is recommended he go to a home with older ones them as he my greet them by jumping on them, and he like to lick! Gunner is happiest and healthiest when he has daily exercise and activities. Because he can be easily stressed by his environment, he may do better in a quieter home. Gunner will also need to go to a cat free home because he enjoys chasing them. In his younger years he was a bird hunter and knows his basic commands. Gunner is a sweet older fellow that will need your extra time adjusting and also needs to catch up on being well groomed! You can visit him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.

Gunner’s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support. Availability is subject to prior adoption.

Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club located at 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland 503-327-8219.
