The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is George (shelter #139157). He is a five year old Mini Pinscher mix who is sensitive fella who hasn't quite gotten used to his new environment. He can be nervous in new situations and prefers to take things slow so he can feel more comfortable in what is happening around him. George would do best with older children who can respect his boundaries and be patient with him while he settles in. With patience and lots of treats of course, George will open up and become a great addition to your household. If you have a resident canine it will be necessary to have a pet meet with George prior to adoption. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.

December is “Home for the Holidays” and George’s special adoption fee during this month is $50. This includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
