Forest is a handsome young fellow. If you are ready for a herding breed, he is ready for you. He may want to herd other animals, children, you! And should not live with cats.

The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Forest (shelter #138052). He is a handsome and regal three and half year old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie who is ready to start his next adventure. He is full of life and excitement, and is just waiting to share the rest of his life with someone special. Forest can be a bit shy in new places and with new people so we do recommend that his next companions work with him on his training and socialization skills. He should not go home with cats and can get over excited when around other canines so proper introductions are essential. If you have herding dog experience and are looking for another loyal friend to be by your side, than Forest may be the match you have been waiting for. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10am to 7pm on Sunday to Wednesday; and 10am to 9pm on Thursday to Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each night.

Forest's adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
