The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Dixie (shelter #129445). She is is a busy two year old American Pit Bull mix looking for an active home. Dixie is very people-oriented and will be happiest when she can be part of her person's daily activities. She is nervous in new situations but her exuberant and charming personality make long walks or hikes a joy. Dixie enjoys physical and mental challenges; although daily exercise and mental stimulation are important for her, she loves to curl up at the end of the day with her head in your lap! She knows basic obedience commands and is crate and house-trained. Dixie's excitable nature makes her a poor candidate for dog parks; she would do best as the only dog in the household. Dixie cannot go home with cats, and is best suited to be around older, respectful children. Wouldn't you enjoy the company of an intelligent, sweet and motivated dog? A training consultation is included prior to her adoption to get you off to a great start! If you would like to learn more about Dixie, please contact the foster care department at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
December is Home for the Holidays month so Dixie has a special adoption fee of $50 which includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
