The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Davey. He is an adorable, playful, exuberant four month old Labrador/Border Collie puppy. Davey has proven that his enthusiasm for everyone can be a bit too much at times, and needs someone who understands how to teach him better manners. Even though he is incredibly cute, he will need loads of guidance, commitment and patience; so we do not believe that he is for the first time dog owner. Like all puppies, Davey will need continued socialization, help with house-training and outlets for his youthful energy. We highly recommend taking Davey through a puppy class, such as the one offered at the Oregon Humane Society, where he can start learning basic manners, meet other people and dogs. We also recommend crate-training your new puppy and also have a crate rental program available, please inquire at the front desk. If you truly are ready for a puppy then this great puppy is ready for you! Davey can be vocal at times so please be prepared for a dog who wants to talk to you. Davey also needs to go to an adult only home which has experience with his breed. He came to us from the Blue Mt. Humane Assoc. through our Second Chance Program. A training consultation is included prior to his adoption. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10-7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10-9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoption hours end one half hour prior to closing each day.
His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
