The Oregon Humane Society’s dog of the Day is Dakota (shelter #134842). She is an adorable eight year old shepherd mix that is looking for a special home to spend her golden years. Dakota doesn't always act very old, but her eyes are a bit cloudy. She loves to follow her nose and sniff at lots of things. Walks may be a little long so she can check everything out. Due to her age Dakota will need to go to a home with out young children. She was crate trained in her previous, so if this is kept up in her new home it can make her transition even smoother. Dakota loves attention, being brushed and petted. These are all some of her favorite activities. Her new family will also need to understand that with Cheyenne’s refined age comes a sense of independence and she doesn't always need to be the center of attention.
