The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is A.J. (104744). He is an interesting looking three and half year old Catahoula Leopard Dog who has a great personality. He knows his basic comands and would benefit from somone who will work with him further with his training. A nice ear rub is one of A.J.'s favorite things and he will lay his head on your lap. He is a big boy and will need some room to run and play in his new home. Even with his great personality, fast movents and loud noises can scare him; so a patient and active owner will really help him settle in a new environment. If you are not familiar with this breed they are a member of the herding breed. They make a good family dog but do not like to be alone so interaction with the dog is a daily need. If they are raised with children they believe it is their responsible to look after and protect the children. Come visit with A.J. at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland (503-285-7722).
His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy vet exam and plenty of post adoption support. Availability subject to prior adoption.
