The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Cowboy (shelter # 13260). He is an adorable, playful four month Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier puppy. He will need a home that can provide for him the time and energy it takes raising a puppy and guide him to grow up to be a fantastic canine citizen. Puppies are incredibly cute but they need guidance, commitment and a whole lot of patience. Like all puppies, Cowboy will need continued socialization, help with house-training and outlets for his youthful energy. We highly recommend taking Cowboy through a puppy class where he can start learning basic manners, meet other people and dogs. At the Oregon Humane Society we offer classes and are happy to help you with all of your training needs and questions. We also recommend crate-training your new puppy and have a crate rental program available here, please inquire at the front desk. If you truly are ready for a puppy then this great puppy is ready for you! www.oregonhumane.org You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hoursw are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.
Cowboy's adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
