The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Cody. He is a sweet and loving year and half year old Shepherd mix who needs a patient owner with the time to get him off to the best start. He has not had any formal training and is very much a silly puppy wrapped up in a fifty-eight pound adult body. He will need regular exercise and continued training and socialization. He would do best in a home with older, mature children due to his energetic and bouncy nature. Do you enjoy running, walking, hiking and playing? Those activities could be way more fun with the Cody as your companion. His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.
Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. OHS kittens are also available for adoption here and they all live in "colony rooms" with their fellow felines. Visiting and adoption hours are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.
