The Oregon Humane Society’s Cat of the Day is Chisme. She is a delightful three year old lap cat who is ready to start the next chapter of her life! She can be pretty shy at first, but once she feels comfortable she is quite affectionate. Chisme is a chatty lady who is very smart! She has been known to pick up on her previous owner's low blood sugar! Chisme is happiest as an only cat and would appreciate being your one and only furry friend. Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.

You can meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.

Kittens are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. At this location they all live in “colony rooms” with their fellow felines. If you want know if your potential new doggie best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Visiting and adoption hours for both kittens and dogs are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.

Every Tuesday the Oregon Humane Society offers an adoption special for people age 60 and up. A select group of 15 pets will be available for adoption to seniors at no charge every Tuesday. All other pets will have their adoption fees reduced by $50 when they are adopted by individuals over 60 on Tuesday.
